President's Message

Welcome to the Canberra Chapter of ISACA.  In April 1985, a handful of Canberra IT professionals formed a local chapter of the EDP Auditors Association.  The organisation was subsequently known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), now simply being ISACA. The Canberra Chapter currently has around 200 members.

ISACA is a global, not-for-profit organisation for information technology governance, control, security and audit professionals. There are more than 75,000 members in more than 160 countries around the world.

In 2008 the Canberra Chapter was awarded the K. Wayne Snipes Chapter Recognition Award – this was received for the best medium sized chapter in the Oceania region.

The Canberra Chapter is also proud to announce that the regional CACS CONFERENCE for 2009 will be held in Canberra.  A separate Organising Committee has been established and is chaired by Max Shannahan to ensure the success of this event.
The Canberra Club continues to host our monthly Professional Update sessions that occur on the third Tuesday of each month.  Information regarding these updates and forthcoming events can be found in the News section at the bottom of this page.  Thanks also to Ernst & Young for providing facilities for monthly Board Meetings at their premises.
2008 also represents the 30th Anniversary of the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification.  A special thanks to all the current and past CISA's associated with the Chapter and with ISACA International who have helped reach this milestone and make CISA certification such a success.
Further information about ISACA and the Canberra Chapter can be found throughout this site.  Any further information can be provided through contacting the Board Members directly through the contacts section of the site.
The Canberra Chapter thanks all our members for their continued support.
