ISACA Oceania CACS conferences attract a wide audience of like minded professionals to their annual 3-day event (5 days including workshops and Welcome Reception) hosted throughout the Oceania Region. This year Canberra proudly hosts Oceania CACS2009. This year’s conference theme is Facing the Future and is from 6 - 11 (conference 7 - 9) September 2009.

In April 1985, a handful of Canberra IT professionals formed a local chapter of the EDP Auditors Association. The organisation was subsequently known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), now simply being ISACA. The Canberra Chapter currently has around 200 members.
ISACA is a global, not-for-profit organisation for information technology governance, control, security and audit professionals. There are more than 86,000 members in more than 160 countries around the world.
ISACA’s IS auditing and IS control standards are followed by practitioners worldwide. ISACA’s Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification is recognized globally and has been earned by more than 60,000 professionals since inception. The Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification uniquely targets the information security management audience and has been earned by more than 10,000 professionals. The Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) designation promotes the advancement of professionals who wish to be recognized for their IT governance-related experience and knowledge and has been earned by more than 200 professionals. In 2008 the Canberra Chapter was awarded the K. Wayne Snipes Chapter Recognition Award – this was received for the best medium sized chapter in the Oceania region.
The Canberra Club continues to host our monthly Professional Update sessions that occur on the third Tuesday of each month. Information regarding these updates and forthcoming events can be found in the News section at the bottom of this page.
